God’s Presence in Your Home (3)
God’s Presence in Your Home (3)
I shared with you in my previous teaching on how you can create a godly atmosphere and how the presence of God guarantees peace. This week, I will be showing you the key of Supplication in Prayer
Supplication means pleading your case before God, producing strong reasons from the Word of God, to back up your petition. Isaiah 43:26 says: Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare you, that you may be justified and Isaiah 41:21 says: Produce your cause, said the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, said the King of Jacob. For you to be able to plead with God and bring forth your strong reasons, you have to be Word-loaded. Therefore, your trust in God’s Word has to be total. You have a responsibility to study, meditate and know the solutions and promises God has provided to solve that problem facing you.
For example, if you believe God for the fruit of the womb, all you need to do is to locate His Word on fruitfulness. The Word of God says: There shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle (Deuteronomy 7:14). If your cattle are not permitted to be barren, how much more you that is formed in the image of God. This means you are meant for fruitfulness, irrespective of doctor’s report. Therefore, barrenness is not of God. A thorough meditation on the Word located will instantly bring inner peace to your heart. Then, in prayers, you can remind God of His promises exactly as written in His Word. Since God is not a man that He should lie or change, He will faithfully answer according to His Word, not worries, complaints, sorrows or tears. He is faithful and cannot deny Himself or His Word.
If you are being faced with family challenges, things are falling apart and you are thinking of giving up, the only true and lasting solution is to locate God’s promises concerning marriage, family and the home and apply it to your situation. God’s Word, amongst so many other promises, tells us that marriage is honourable (Hebrews 13:4). Marriage and family were initiated by God to help man (both male and female) (Genesis 2:18). It is expected to increase man and bring him into favour and honour.
Anything outside this is not of God and should be treated as such. Through an in-depth knowledge of the Word, meditation and supplication, which is using God’s Word as your strong reason, those family crises and challenges will leave. Supplication works effectively with good knowledge and use of the Word of God in prayers.
Supplication in prayers should bring you to a level whereby worry and fear is replaced with strong faith in God’s Word, which you have located. Your total belief in God and His Word, irrespective of what you see, face or experience, must be in place. Constantly remind yourself of the Word of God any time there is any challenge. Let the Word of God be your confidence in your lonely moments when you feel like shedding private tears and the burdens of life stare you in the face. No matter the challenge, keep your faith in the Word of God. The Word of God says: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6).
In Matthew 6:27 Jesus said: Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? Don’t take prayer for granted; it is an all-purpose drug for the cares of life. Some people, especially women, would rather cry than pray. The time you spend crying can be put to more productive use, if spent in prayers, because by so doing, you hand your battles over to God.
Do not give room for doubts in your life and family. Hold on to God’s Word, no matter how insignificant it may look. The Word of God will try your faith and when you overcome, the joy of the testimony becomes even sweeter. Besides, doubt is a robber of the efficacy of God’s Word and the eventual miracles. The Word of God says: Jesus answered and said to them, Truly I say to you, If you have faith, and doubt not, you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if you shall say to this mountain, Be you removed, and be you cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive (Matthew 21:21). Therefore, by the Blood of Jesus, I come against every form of doubt and whatever is threatening to steal your miracle. I decree quick answers to your prayers in Jesus’ name!
Until you are born again, you cannot supplicate effectively. If you are ready to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, then please, say this prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
